Health & Wellbeing

Mindfulness Meditation

This year create a more mindful version of yourself. Restore inner balance, lower stress levels and anxiety, and give your body and mind the chance to rest deeply and re-energize.

No previous experience is required. You will be sitting in a comfortable chair, with the option of lying down.

Come and unwind in your lunch hour, learn to feel more relaxed, centered, vibrant, forgiving, loving and serene.

Linda has been practicing Mindfulness and Meditation for 10 years and is passionate to share the benefits of these practices.

Research papers around the benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation have grown exponentially during the past few years, demonstrating highly positive effect on the whole person: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Benefits include weight and blood pressure regulation, decreased stress levels, better concentration and mental clarity and improved emotional awareness.

Come and join to learn the secret of a beautiful and healthy body.

Our Pilates class will give you a full body workout performed on a mat, realigning, strengthening and improving your balance.

Improve your posture, flexibility and balance, reduce neck and back discomfort, build bone and muscle strength, firm up your tummy and butt, and reduce stress in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Yoga

Join us in a non-competitive friendly environment for a traditional Hatha style yoga class suitable for all levels - absolute beginners to experienced practitioners.

Alita will lead you through breathing techniques, gentle stretching and rotations of joints to release tension through the body and mind, plus energizing strengthening and balancing sequences to keep the body and mind sharp, healthy and harmonized. Class concludes with a guided relaxation to restore and rejuvenate.

Introducing Qigong

Dates:

Qigong is an integrated body-mind health practice originating from China encompassing physical postures and stretching, repeated flowing body movement, breathing techniques and focused intention.

The movements are easy to learn and accessible to everyone, require no equipment and are modified in case of injury/illness.

Creative Arts

Mosaic Workshop - Trio of Flowers is a Bee Bowl

Dates:

This shallow water bowl is designed to encourage bees to visit your garden. Bees can safely land on the flower ‘stepping stones’ and drink without drowning.

Bowl is 26cm in diameter and Bee is 5cm high. BYO china ‘treasures’ if you wish. All materials and afternoon tea supplied.

Mosaics Workshop - Beautiful Creatures - Bee and Butterfly Small Sculptures

Art Class - Doodling & Creative Patterning

Enhance your creativity and unwind with meditative doodling. Explore patterns artists have used in the past and create your own to form your own artworks.

Winter Solstice Celebration 2018

Everyone is welcome to join in this FREE community event to celebrate the Winter Solstice. This is a time that traditionally acknowledges the shortest day of daylight in the southern hemisphere.

Bring a rug and your lanterns, enjoy a hot chocolate and join us for a family friendly, amazing and memorable celebration of music, colour and light in the beautiful West Memorial Park in Geelong West. Hot chocolate and marshmallows available courtesy of Depot 3218 Café for a gold coin donation.

Geelong West Café Care Connect

Café Care Connect is a support program for people caring for an elderly person or someone who has dementia to enjoy some social activities together in a supportive and welcoming environment.

It provides opportunities for carers and those they are caring for to join in a regular café style support group and enjoy delicious homemade food, information, lively conversation and fun activities.

It is an opportunity for people to meet others in a similar situation, share their experiences and make new friendships along the way.
