The Geelong West Neighbourhood House is proud to offer you a range of Creative Arts, Health & Wellbeing and Self Sufficiency & Sustainability classes and workshops plus a number of innovative Community events.

You are most welcome to join in our low cost classes to ensure a healthy life balance and increase your fitness, make new friends while participating in a variety of creative arts activities with other like minded people, share your skills and interests – even become a volunteer!

The Geelong West Neighbourhood House is now in its 13th year of operation since it was formed in late 2009.

Artist In Residence

The Artist in Residence program is a new initiiative of GWNH, allowing an artist to produce work in a community setting whilst sharing the process of creating and its benefits with others.

FelicityK works in a variety of media, including graphite pencil, watercolor, acrylics, ink pen, charcoal and experimental printmaking processes and textile projects

With qualifications in visual arts and interests in textiles and papermaking, she had tutored classes for the past 10 years and exhibited work in local exhibitions.

‘Strength And Grace – Women Who Shaped Geelong’.
This all-Geelong written and produced and it uses narration, images and songs to tell the stories of significant women in our city – and region’s past.
These range from temperance society members and suffragettes through prominent women like Mary De Garis, Elizabeth Austin and Fanny Brownbill up to and including Patricia Heath, Linsay Sharp and Rebecca Cody. (she’s current principal of Australia’s most expensive school, Geelong Grammar).

We have our Sour Dough Bread Making class coming up in November
This sourdough class will be hands on using organic flours and will help participants understand the principles of sourdough, the mother culture, how to look after the culture, how to feed it, how to use it and how to love it. We will take the stress out of making bread and learn all about the history of bread and culture and how to make delicious bread, buns, crumpets and a recipe for a few other baked goods. Participants will need to bring 2 mixing bowls not huge, a small baking tray or loaf pan, something to share for lunch, a sense of humour and a passion for kneading to learn the art of sourdough.

Date: Sunday 27 November 10am-1pm
