Learn or refresh existing skills in watercolour. The Thursday watercolour class is designed for those wanting to learn or extend existing skills. We focus on different techniques in each five week block and put them together into a small artwork dependant on your level of skill or experience. We aim to build a community of beginner and intermediate artists who can support each other and learn all aspects of watercolour painting. We include complete beginners to more experienced and meet you at whatever skill level you have and help to extend and build on those skills in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Mixed media on canvas or panel

Tuesday 8 Oct – 5 November (5 weeks)

Using either canvas or panel, you will learn how to prepare initial textural layers of a mixed media piece before developing an individual artwork of your choice. Mixed media can combine both wet and dry materials, including acrylic or watercolour paint, inks markers, fabric or collage, pencils, oil pastel, modelling paste and impasto mediums. Be guided to complete an art project whilst surrounded by others who enjoy similar interests in a supportive atmosphere

Drawing – Aspects of your neighbourhood

Tuesday 12 November – 10 December (5 weeks)

1pm-2.30pm

Code: 24-4CA3 Cost: $130 per 5 week class

In this project class you will use any type or combination of dry media…i.e pencil, coloured pencil, ink pen, marker or pastel to complete an artwork on your choice focusing on an everyday subject from your neighbourhood. It may be as simple as a flower from your garden, or you might attempt a landscape of your favourite location or view from your window. In the first weeks you will be guided in drawing basic shapes and rendering tonal values. Beginners encouraged and welcome
