The Geelong West Neighbourhood House is proud to offer you a range of Creative Arts, Health & Wellbeing and Self Sufficiency & Sustainability classes and workshops plus a number of innovative Community events.
You are most welcome to join in our low cost classes to ensure a healthy life balance and increase your fitness, make new friends while participating in a variety of creative arts activities with other like minded people, share your skills and interests – even become a volunteer!
The Geelong West Neighbourhood House is now in its 13th year of operation since it was formed in late 2009.

Enrol nowWe are offering membership to the Neighbourhood House for the upcoming year. Membership entitles you to receive special invitations to events, such as our upcoming launch of our renovations, and to have a vote or stand for committee at our AGM. It also supports our house to meet it’s obligations. Membership is only $10 per year or $5 concession. See Lisa in the office for details and a form.
Earlier this year we were involved in the “Know Your Neighbourhood House” project with http://www.nhbarwon.org.au/ to produce a video of who we are and what we do, with funding from City of Greater Geelong. Everyone is welcome to join in this FREE community event to celebrate the Winter Solstice. This is a time that traditionally acknowledges the shortest day of daylight in the southern hemisphere.

Sourdough Bread Making Workshop

Time: 11:30am – 1.30pm

This sourdough class will be hands on using organic flours and will help participants understand the principles of sourdough, the mother culture, how to look after the culture, how to feed it, how to use it and how to love it. We will take the stress out of making bread and learn all about the history of bread and culture and how to make delicious bread, buns, crumpets and a recipe for a few other baked goods. As we head towards the closing of this opportunity for free training, I'd like to offer you and your staff, volunteers and patrons an option to do the "Be a digital mentor/guide" workshop in an online format instead of face-to-face. This may make it easier and more practical for some.
2 online webinar-workshops are scheduled, one next week and one the week after. Each is split into 2 parts on different days to reduce brain-strain and fit into people's day better. Dates are;

It's important to note that there's no ongoing commitment, digital mentors are free to help others in whatever way works best locally. Ideally that is a regular informal session at your House, but it's entirely up to you and the digital mentors/guides.
