Winter Solstice at West Park

Saturday 20 June
4.30pm to 7.30pm
West Park, Geelong West
Free entry

Come together for a cosy winter evening of lanterns, music, food, fire twirling and community magic at West Park.

Our Winter Solstice celebration is a free, family friendly event filled with local creativity, connection and gentle winter fun. There’ll be free kids activities, a lantern parade, artisan and community stalls, performers, delicious food, hot drinks, damper making, Glitter Babe, Sensory Sanctuary and fire dancing.

Bring a homemade lantern if you have one, or make one on the night and join the lantern parade as the park starts to glow.

You’re also welcome to bring a picnic dinner and rug, grab something yummy from the food stalls, or do a bit of both. Rug up, bring a reusable cup, and settle in for a lovely evening with neighbours, friends and family.

A low waste community celebration

This year, Winter Solstice is striving to be as low waste as possible.

We’re excited to have Jess from Waste Free Events helping with a dishwashing station on the night. Bring a reusable cup if you have one, and help us keep this celebration kind to the place we gather.

Everyone’s welcome

Winter Solstice is designed to be inclusive, accessible and welcoming for the whole community.

The event includes free entry, free activities, inclusive programming, volunteer involvement and a Sensory Sanctuary for anyone who needs a quieter moment.

Come for the whole evening, or pop in for a little while. Bring the kids, bring a mate, come solo, or meet your neighbours there.
